My primary project at Accela, and certainly the most squirrelly, was the redesign and combination of several mobile and tablet applications into one. Accela Mobile comprises all the functionality of the legacy Inspector, Code Officer and Work Crew apps, this time leveraging design research, iteration and an effort to untangle the complex workflows and agency-specific configurations that these public servants need. For over two years, my role has been to lead the interaction and visual design, build prototypes and run research sessions, expand the mobile pattern library, and support the developers and QA from the beginning to the end of their sprint, which I have additionally helped to shape. This app is currently available in the iOS and Google App Stores and is being enhanced with regular updates.
